On Sunday afternoon, coach Heather Tarr's team was selected for the NCAA Tournament for the 32nd consecutive season, but they'll have a tall task on their hands in a group hosted by the No. 5 overall seed in the Razorbacks. The regional also holds Fordham and UW's first opponent, South Florida.

As theHuskieslook to make it back to the Women's College World Series for the first time since 2023, they'll have to snap a significant cold streak to do it. Washington, which is 36-18 on the year and 16-8 in Big Ten play, has lost 9 of its last 11 games heading into the postseason.

Tarr's roster is still relatively young, and that lack of experience showed up in some big moments. The Huskies struggled against ranked opponents throughout the year to the tune of a 2-12 record.

Despite their youth, the Huskies are still very talented, led by a pair of All-Big Ten First Team honorees in first baseman Alexis DeBoer and third baseman Giselle Alvarez. Pitcher Morgan Reimer found her name on the All-Big Ten Second Team, while center fielder Kaycie Burdick and shortstop Melody Acevedo were both recognized on the All-Big Ten Freshman Team.

Washington and South Florida will play on Friday, May 15; the start time is to be determined.
